Lunch Count Call Scam

Parents,

Please be advised of a new scam that I just learned has been happening.    Parents are getting automated calls announcing their child’s lunch count funds are low and need to be replenished.   The message directs you to a long distance phone number to call and then requests credit card information to update your child’s lunch account.     Please be advised that Penn Manor does not use an automated service for lunch reminders.

  1. Great catch Jen! I hope that nobody in your school has fallen victim to this. Any more information on this? My kids’ school has an email alert for low account balances, but I wonder ho wmany other schools are affected by this.
