Jump Rope for Heart

JRFHPequea Families,

Pequea students are invited to participate in The American Heart Association’s Jump Rope For Heart! Jump Rope for Heart is a rope-jumping special event program that gives children an opportunity to engage in community service by raising money to fund lifesaving research and educational programs. Students will be receiving a JRFH collection envelope from their classroom teacher. When this collection envelope is brought home, students may begin asking family and friends to support their participation by making contributions. In addition to the collection envelope, your child can also raise funds via the Internet by logging onto: americanheart.org/jump. We kindly ask that children not go door-to-door (unless they have your permission) or ask strangers for donations.

Checks should be made payable to the American Heart Association. Keep in mind that this is NOT a mandatory fundraiser for students. Children may choose to participate or decline involvement in the program. If your child would like to participate in the fundraiser, please complete the permission form that is attached to the collection envelope and return it to Mr. Binkley by February 23rd. All funds collected must be sealed in the collection envelope and returned to Mr. Binkley no later than February 27th 2015. Regardless of fundraising efforts, all students will have a Heart Celebration Party during Physical Education Class the week of February 23rd 2015. The purpose of the celebration is to teach children the importance of keeping their heart healthy and jumping rope is an excellent way to achieve this goal!

Thank you for your support!
