At the school board meeting this evening, Ms. Christine Santaniello was appointed the new Pequea principal. She will be a wonderful new addition to the Pequea family. Chris has experience as a teacher in a number of districts. She most recently was the Assistant Principal/AST teacher at Marticville Middle School and prior to that time she was a special education teacher. I am confident Ms. Santaniello will serve Pequea well.
Before signing off on my last Pequea blog post, I wanted to thank all of you for such wonderful well wishes on my new adventure. Your kindness has been overwhelming and humbling. It has been a true honor to work with all of you over the years. I have loved having the opportunity to know your families and work with your children. Enjoy the remaining days of your summer break.

Dear Pequea Families,
I wanted to take this opportunity to share a change that will affect Pequea Elementary School, as well as me personally, for the upcoming school year. I will be leaving as principal of Pequea to take on a new role as the principal of Eshleman Elementary School starting with the 2011-2012 school year.
I was hired as the principal at Pequea in August of 2000 and it has truly been an honor to fill this role for the past eleven years. Throughout my educational career, I have always embraced change as a positive adventure. The building I am moving to will offer change along with a slightly smaller student population. This will allow me to devote additional time to developing the district early childhood goals and initiatives that I will continue to coordinate across the seven elementary schools.
The district has posted the elementary principal position and interviews will take place by the end of June. Information on the new Pequea principal will be posted on the district website as soon as a final decision has been made and board approval is finalized. I will assure the new principal that Pequea is a welcoming community made up of quality teachers and supportive, involved families who team together for academic success.
I want you to know it has been a true honor and joy to work with all of you and I know that I will continue to see all of you at different Penn Manor events and community projects. If you have any questions regarding these changes, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
